Our Place – an independent charity working at Heath

Our Place (formerly Weekend Care) provides day support at weekends for Calderdale residents aged 50 or over.

Our Place believes that over 50s are not over the hill… They are just too busy dancing at the top! This is a day service that keeps the fun and little joys in life at the centre of its work and aims to spark the youthfulness inside everyone no matter what age. It is just a number after all! Our Place improves the lives and health and wellbeing of Calderdale residents by providing a socially stimulating environment for people to be in.

Full day service provision available both Saturdays and Sundays including transport option, lunch, activities and refreshments 10am – 3pm. We are also launching a Friday service, for carers respite and social inclusion in July 2017

Our Place are also looking for more volunteers to help us provide companionship to guests in a friendly and attentive environment. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about volunteering roles available with us!  Melanie Rumble 07825429034 [email protected]

Dawn to Dusk Care Services – an independent care provider offering dementia care at Heath

We offer Person Centred Care packages for customers in their own homes, supporting the caring role that many relatives take on for their loved ones. We have an excellent reputation and have grown largely through ‘word of mouth’. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and our inspection report reflects the high quality of care that we provide.  New for 2017, is a Day Care Service, primarily for customers with dementia, to be held in the Care Centre known previously as Heath Stroke Club. We are grateful to the church for giving us this opportunity and look forward to opening on July 24th. We will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays initially. Customers will be able to attend flexible sessions of 2 and half hours or blend two sessions together to have a day out. This will provide respite for carers and will enable people with dementia to get out, as they can often feel isolated. The service will be run by fully qualified and experienced staff and we will be offering lots of different activities to meet individual’s needs e.g. baking, arts/crafts, games, and reminiscence activities.  Dawn Scriven 01422 399411 / 07972532608 [email protected]
