Heath Church was built as a Congregational Church in 1890.
As well as being used for regular Sunday Worship, it is used by a number of regular hirers and also for community meetings such as the Ward Forum. In other words, it is an important community facility in the Savile Park area.
In common with many Victorian buildings, our building does put a lot of demand on both human and financial resources. A small, voluntary, Building Management group, comprised of both church members and other building users, work to make sure that health and safety is prioritised and that the structure is sound. A great deal of investment in the building has been made to date, not only improving the structure, but also the appearance, particularly the hall, stairwell and entrance. We continue to invest in the property, and have bigger and better plans for the future, including improvements to toilet facilities, a possible lift (funds allowing) and improved facilities for serving coffee and tea.
